ZIMO accessory decoders are used to operate and generate feedback from turnouts, light and semaphore signals, magnetic uncouplers and similar devices.

ZIMO accessory decoders are compatible any type of turnout and signal drive unit including twin coil solenoids, Kato/LGB bi-polar solenoids, DC motors, slow-motion switch machines and PIKO EPL motors.

ZIMO accessory decoders conform to applicable NMRA DCC Standards and Recommended Practices including programming and opreration through accessory addresses and Rail-Com compatability.

ZIMO accessory decoders also offer updatable firmware, including Synchronous Update using the MXULF-A.


ZIMO MX820 DCC Decoders offer the following features:

The MX820 is the "standard model" for accessory control in the ZIMO decoder range.  It comes in several variations of two formats, has plenty of power, operates all types of turnout controllers, and has a unique waterproof variation for outdoor railroads.

Turnout control models feature manual control switch inputs and LED position indicator outputs.

Models with lighting outputs feature a unique option for addressable "Day/Night" dimming.

• Thermal protection (100 - 120 C), shuts decoder down and notifies user with flashing headlights.
