Description

ZIMO ADAPLU NEM658 PluX22 Adapter Board - Hardwire

The ADAPxx-series adapter boards are designed for use NEM658 PluX22 decoders, including the ZIMO MX600P12, MX623P12, MX630P16, MX633P16, MX633P22, MX645P16, MX645P22 and MX648P16 model decoders.

CAUTION: Refer to the Pin-out Diagram below to insure proper alignment of P12 and P16 model decoders.

Specifications:
  • 45x15x4mm
  • NEM658 Compliant
  • 1.8A Amplified Motor Output
  • Large Solder Pad Interface Connection
  • Unregulated Function Common Voltage

The decoder is plugged into the female connector of the adapter board which features interface connections and features for easy, convenient installation and improved functionality in a wide variety of HO and O scale models.

The ADAPLU-series adapter board is especially suited for use in O Scale applications where the size of large scale decoder models like the MX699 can be an issue and additional features are not needed.

The ADAPUS-series adapter board is especially suited for use in HO Scale applications to replace the AT-style OEM circuit boards used by Athearn, Atlas, and others.

Interface options include:
  • ADAPLU - Large Solder Pad With Through Hole, Generic Board
  • ADAPUS - Large Solder Pad With Through Hole, Common Atlas/Athearn Style Drop-In Style Board
The adapter board ADAPLU is equipped with a rectifier, which relieves the rectifier of the decoder, to generate more power and less heat from the decoder.

NOTE:  The ADAPUS does not include the high power rectification feature.

The ADAPLU adapter board increases the rated motor output of the MX645P22 to 1.8A continuous load, 3A peak load.

The ADAPxx-series adapter board comes in three versions of function common output voltage
  • Standard - Features unregulated function common (BLUE) output voltage which is basically rectified track voltage minus voltage drop (typically about 12.5V on 14V systems).
  • 1.5V - Features 1.5V regulated function common (BLUE) output voltage for use with low voltage indescant bulbs.
  • 5.0V - Features 5.0V regulated function common (BLUE) output voltage for use with servos.
The maximum amount of energy storage that can be connected directly to the ADAPLU/US is 16V/6800uF.  GOLDCAPS may be connected directly to the decoder or ADAMTC/KL with the addition of a resistor-diode pair to limit in-rush current.

*** Adapter Board Only.  Decoder Sold Seperately

NEM658 Pin-Out Diagram

The NEM658 standard for the PluX interface is designed so that decoders with a smaller size plug (with fewer pins) can be used  in a larger socket.

In the diagram above, various colors have been used to show the smaller designs:
  • 8-Pin - Yellow
  • 12-pin - Red
  • 16-pin - Brown
In all cases, the Index Pin is pin 11.
