Gardner Bender Liquid Electrical Tape - Black

This is hands down my favorite product I keep on my work bench. I apply it to my work area with a tooth pick or even scrap or resistor wire lead.

I use it for everything... adhesive to seal and secure my cube speakers, blackout to hide LED lights inside the cab, magic plastic repair stuff to fix broken loco drawbars... even as insulation for solder joints and exposed wire leads on LEDs.

It is 100% opaque and dries super thin.

Best part is no heat is required so wires do not get brittle from exposure to flame.

There is simply no better solution for insulating DCC decoder wire solder joints. Period.

Great stuff really. It would probably even work better than that green snot stuff for making traction tires. Dries super thin and even.

Is it messy? Maybe... that's why I use a little at a time on the end of a tooth pick. If I happen to drop a little bit where I don't want it, I just let it dry and peel it off.

10-20% Naptha or Toluene can be added to thin it out a bit. Care must be taken to not over-dilute. This can affect the dry time and dielectric properties, as well as create fumes. If thinning out the tape mixture, do so in a well ventilated area.
